I am Sheetal Shaw, a visual artist and creator dedicated to living a simple and mindful life through creativity. My creative practice has been shaped by a wide range of life experiences, including early childhood trauma, the complexities of the immigrant experience, miscarriage and divorce, and a hidden disability that I only came to understand later in life following a life-changing event in my mid-thirties.
My path has included long periods of uncertainty, career struggles, and setbacks that challenged my sense of direction and stability, as well as the loss of close family members and beloved pets. These experiences are intricately woven into my creative practice and have become essential to my artistic expression.
Alongside these challenges, I have been sustained and inspired by love, friendship, adventure, and a deep curiosity about the world—forces that continue to shape both my life and creative work. As life changed, my focus slowly shifted. I began moving away from external expectations and toward a quieter, more reflective way of living, rooted in mindfulness. Creativity has become my way to process experiences, observe life, and stay present in the moment.
On this website, I share my work as it develops—through visual art, travel notes, photographs, and written reflections. This ongoing creative practice is not a finished statement; it continues to evolve as I deepen my understanding of myself and the world around me.
Thank you for taking the time to be here and engage with this work.
